Another fireplace surround

With cold weather here, I am thinking of a client who wants to install a fireplace surround for a gas fireplace.

This is a sample of the type of carving I propose for the surface of the surround. It relates to the sunburst pattern I’ve been carving on my modular brick pieces. Once fired, the surface will be multihued as in other finished works with buff stoneware, like the corner fountain shown on Fountains page.

I’ve started the right hand side of the carved brick sculptural fireplace that I’ve been working on. I hope to have the carving finished quite soon.
