Amateur Archaeology
So…. the weather has been unseasonably mild lately so I’ve used my breaks from studio work to do some digging in the alley out back. I have found quite a few historical artifacts. Clay pipe stems & pipe bowls, tiny Frozen Charlotte dolls, coins, a Civil War military button, pieces of plates and bowls, and one very interestingly shaped bowl (I thought). A friend connected me to a professional archaeologist who stopped over to look at this weird round bottomed “bowl” to determine whether or not is was from Colonial times. She labeled it 19th century, and Mike helped to figure out that it was the lid of a jar, most likely a tobacco jar.
